Mike Minter : The Businessman

While many philanthropists find causes in far away places, Mike has returned to his roots in Oklahoma to give something back to the area where he began his life. Like many of his undertakings, Mike has chosen to do something that others have never attempted. Most people have heard of “Extreme Makeovers” of a person or a single house, but in this case, Mike has chosen to transform an entire community.  He is taking a small rural town, population 161, near the Texas border, and completely revitalizing it. He plans on building 600 homes, a new water system, and renovating the downtown binging both jobs and hope. When complete, it will be like bringing Mayberry, NC to rural Oklahoma…complete with an ice-cream parlor, a barbershop and local stores.  If this weren’t enough, Mike is accepting applications for the “American Dream” where he will select one person to receive both a home and a job for life!
