Mike Minter : The Businessman The Ruckus House Learning Center Ruckus House is a learning center, daycare, and developmental center that focuses on faith-based, high-quality learning programs to better prepare children for kindergarten and for life. With other NFL players Mike Rucker, Muhsin Muhammad and Stephen Davis, the goal of Ruckus House is to create an environment where children would receive nurturing care and intellectual stimulation that would help them develop into well-rounded people. "It's child care 'stepped up' to another level," Mike said. "We want each child to know their purpose on earth. I think that's the biggest thing missing in children." The program, which boasts its own curriculum written by renowned early childhood educator Dr. Linda Miller, offers foreign language, sign language, math and science, computer skills, arts and crafts and gymnastics. The specially designed facility features classrooms for each age group and a low staff-to-child ratio to ensure that every child receives personalized attention during these critical, developmental years. Thus, Ruckus House is better able to focus on all aspects of a child's life from cognitive and physical to social and emotional development. Additionally, there are four state-of-the-art playgrounds, plus an indoor gym, which allows children to play while learning the importance of health and physical fitness. The center also incorporates after-school programs, summer camps and, of course, football camp. Combining education, play and building Christian character, Ruckus House is a natural extension of Mike's value system and delivers to its youngsters all the components that have allowed him to succeed. "It's child care/day care stepped up to another level," Minter said. "We want to teach your kid, develop your kid and let them know their purpose on earth. I think that's the biggest thing missing in children."
