Mike Minter is the principal or partner in several successful business ventures. Five years ago, Minter began his entrepreneurial debut in real estate and quickly earned a reputation as an accomplished and savvy developer. His businesses are not all about the financial gains, however, as his many endeavors have the continuous thread of giving back to the community. Mike has a passion for the growth, development, and well being of his community. His commitment and desire to give back 90 percent of his business profit to ministry and missions motivates his success.
Mike firmly believes in what he calls the three “P’s” of business…the plan, the people and the purpose.
“You’ve got to have a plan that makes things simple, clear and concise so that people know what direction you are going in. That’s the where to. Then you’ve got to have the right people in the right positions. You can’t have me as a safety playing at quarterback or we’re in real trouble. That’s the who to. Finally, you’ve got to have a purpose. That’s the vision. That’s the gas that makes the engine run. The leader has to be able to sell the purpose to his people. That’s the why to.”
Asked about his philosophy in conducting his many business ventures, Mike is fairly unique in today’s business climate. “I think you can get more people to do what you want them to do if you love them as opposed to beating them up. Teachers, coaches…the one’s you knew cared about you…those are the ones you want to do your best for.”
In explaining his quest for so many diverse business ventures, Mike is equally succinct. “I love each one because each business is like a child, and although each child is different, I love them all, and that’s the way it is with my business interests. It’s like they all come from my mind, but they grow up totally different, and that’s what’s exciting for me.
The Minter Group is the umbrella corporation for myriad business accomplishments of Mike Minter.
